Our 32nd I Love Jazz Show this week is dedicated to Mothers everywhere.
We play songs for & about Mothers on this Mothers Day Show.
Mona Hinton’s passing & her many contributions to jazz are given special attention. Our thoughts & prayers are with our HOMIE-Clark Terry-for a speedy recovery.
Special attention is given to the anniversary of the birth of both Woody Herman & Fats Waller & we remember Susannah McCorkle on the anniversary of her passing. Once again great song writers are also given special tributes on their birthdates.
New recordings from The Stein Brothers-Jo West-Harry Pickens-Robert Walter & Susan Krebs.
Come celebrate Mother’s Day in a musical sort of way on I Love Jazz on Live365.com

Hi Don,
I’m enjoying your show right now and just wanted to make a (hopefully clarifying) comment about the comparison between the number from “66 2/3″ by the Frank and Joe Show and Cleo Laine’s “Turkish Delight.” In the track you played, Frank and Joe actually do two different numbers. The first part is a take-off on the Allemande movement of Bach’s “Partita No. 2 for Solo Violin.” They play it all the way through to the end but then launch into a completely different piece — this time based on Mozart’s “Turkish Rondo” (actually the third movement of his Piano Sonata No. 11). If you notice, the track on 66 2/3 is actually labeled “Bach Partita No. 2 for Solo Violin/Mozart Jam.”
Cleo Laine’s “Turkish Delight” is clearly based on the same Mozart work.
Best regards and good luck in your new home,
Jack Kissinger
